Ms. Smyth oversees hydrogeological investigations for a variety of clients in the region which include subsurface investigations for solid waste facility siting and permitting. Her water quality assessment experience extends from underground storage tank removal to contaminant delineation at pre-regulatory landfill facilities. Her remediation experience includes monitored natural attenuation, in-situ remediation, source removal, and groundwater extraction and ex-situ remediation. Her current focus is on emerging contaminants.

BIOGRAPHY
Ms. Smyth oversees hydrogeological investigations for a variety of clients in the region which include subsurface investigations for solid waste facility siting and permitting. Ms. Smyth is a member the Solid Waste Association of North America (SWANA) PFAS Group, is on the NCDEQ Rule Review Committee overseeing Environmental Monitoring Rules, and is an Adjunct Professor with the Department of Geological and Environmental Sciences of Appalachian State University.
Ms. Smyth is a licensed Professional Geologist in North Carolina and South Carolina.
She holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Hydrogeology from Northern Arizona University.
