REVERSING ENVIRONMENTAL DAMAGE
EXPERTISE IN ENGINEERING
ALL THE EXPERTISE YOU NEED
When you need rock solid expertise, we’re here to help. While preventing remediation is clearly the priority, we’ve got enough field experience to understand that with unlined waste units, remediation may be necessary.
When it is, you can count on an astounding array of professional expertise, all under one roof, and all designed to help you reframe the negative aspects of environmental remediation and utilize the by-products of remediation (recovered water, etc.) as assets at any project site.
From geologists to groundwater specialists, our environmental engineers have vast expertise in remediation, including:
ENVIRONMENTAL SITE ASSESSMENT
SMARTER REMEDIAL STRATEGIES
We have a long history performing ESAs for a variety of clients, including pre-purchase property Phase 1 ESAs. These are performed to ASTM standards to assist our clients with obtaining financing and limiting future risk during development.
Our team has significant experience with groundwater impact assessment including alternate source demonstrations, plume delineation, and groundwater modeling. We also have expertise with a variety of remediation techniques and understand what technology will improve impacts depending on site variables.
S+G also has experience with landfill gas assessment including soil gas surveys and landfill gas well installation. We have designed several remedial strategies for landfill gas including passive vent trench systems as well as active landfill gas collection.
Our experience with a variety of impacts and remedial strategies makes us the right choice for environmental assessment.
ENVIRONMENTAL MONITORING & COMPLIANCE
QUICK DETECTION & THOROUGH ASSESSMENT
Our geologists and environmental professionals have extensive experience providing detection and assessment monitoring services. This includes groundwater, soil and air monitoring to maintain site compliance and evaluate potential issues quickly. Our team has experience designing monitoring systems using a risk-based approach to minimize long-term monitoring costs.
LIMITING RISK & FINDING REWARDS
At S+G, we know that limiting risk not only protects you, it can also improve your bottom line. For this reason, our focus on risk management informs everything we do. We evaluate soil, water and air to determine exposure pathways for potential acute and chronic impact – assessing regulatory requirements and potential environmental impact over the short and long-term.
AIR QUALITY PERMITTING & COMPLIANCE
A PIONEER IN AIR QUALITY ENGINEERING
Our experience with air quality dates back to the start of our company in the early 1990s, when our team became one of the first verifiers for the Chicago Climate Exchange. Since then, we’ve worked for a variety of sites across the U.S., maintaining proficiency with changing regulations to offer a variety of services. Today, we are proud to offer the following capabilities in air emissions permitting and compliance:
- Title V & Air Permitting and Compliance
- New Source Performance Standards (NSPS) & Emissions Guidelines (EG)
- NESHAP–MACT Permitting and Compliance
- Startup, Shutdown, Malfunction (SSM) Plans & Reporting
- Annual Compliance Certification & Semi-annual Summary Reporting
- Tier 2 Non-Methane Organic Compound (NMOC) Testing
- Greenhouse Gas–Carbon Credit Consulting
- Landfill Gas (LFG) Remediation Plans
- LFG Collection System Design, Engineering, Operations and Maintenance
- Air Sampling
- Landfill Gas-To-Energy (LFGTE) Feasibility Study
- LFGTE Direct Use, Medium & High Btu, Cogeneration Project Evaluation
- SCREEN3 Air Dispersion Modeling
- Air Emission Inventories
- LFGTE RFP & Contract Assistance
- Explosive Gases Migration Monitoring & Remediation
ASBESTOS MANAGEMENT & COMPLIANCE
If asbestos management and disposal is an issue, you don’t need to look elsewhere for expertise. We offer a staff of Accredited Asbestos Inspectors in-house to assist you with the evaluation and management of asbestos. Our personnel have significant experience overseeing landfill gas extraction well installation, as well as other activities performed in waste where asbestos may be present.
REMEDIAL DESIGN & IMPLEMENTATION
WHEN HISTORY CALLS
Should environmental impact due to historical practices warrant remedial action, S+G provides design, procurement and implementation services for effective and appropriate remedial options, including:
- Enhanced Bioremediation
- Groundwater Recovery
- Landfill Gas Recovery
- Air Sparging
- Monitored Natural Attenuation
REMEDIATION SYSTEM OPERATIONS & OPTIMIZATION
STRATEGIES FOR GROUNDWATER, SOIL & AIR
S+G provides remedial system operations for a variety of remedial options including strategies for groundwater, soil and air. Our extensive experience with these systems gives us the expertise necessary to effectively optimize these systems and reduce monitoring costs. For our renewable energy clients, our extensive experience with landfill gas to energy systems gives our operators the know-how to optimize LFG recovery and energy production.
